I'd like you guys to pretend that the map shown in the upper left is more detailed than it is XD Thing is, Silk and Sword is set in Goshenia, and the geography isn't 100% set in stone yet, beyond what's already depicted here.

This page is an early attempt to try something a bit different visually, a sort of a mishmash of memories from before the trip. It also features a spoom, from Leafa's Breaking the Lore!

LOL at that cute doodle of a sea monster! "Good golly", indeed! :-D

Haha! I think it's safe to say that wasn't part of the original map.

Saw the Spoom and was like "I've seen one of those before."

It felt like the perfect opportunity, I couldn't pass it up :D I very much enjoyed that comic.

Curious if you know (and I am lazy to google in more detail).
Did real captains or whoever made maps for them really put stuff like "here are dragons/sea monsters" there when they were unsure or maybe because of legends/superstition?
I guess I am talking about pirates and the like because I think real captains or explorers had the budget and support of various nobles and therefore actual cartographers with knowledge.
I know they at least wrote LAND or END OF THE WORLD when they had no idea since back then you had all kinds of believes? Hm.

I'm not sure, though I have heard that those may have been put in as fun decoration. I'm definitely not 100% certain on that though.

I think my main reason for putting it there was for fun, truth be told. ^u^' This is most likely Seb's dad's own map; there are other (probably better ones) on board, but it's fairly hard to obtain one that shows the lands past Beru Island in... any kind of detail, in the part of the world they're from.
