Seb's mother is from Jei, which does not often depict skeletons in jewellery (or otherwise) since they're considered quite vulgar. Now, Baines doesn't know that, but it is the most likely place she might be from, given how much trading with other places Jei is involved with.
Cool! Might be a decent ticket to get Baines on their side. That could solve quite a few other problems.

yep indeed, could be bad. Baines is... Well who knows what his agenda is. They don't, that's for sure. He'll take the side that can get him what he wants.
