That's a sextant on the table. I had to do SO MUCH MATHS on this page to convert miles to leagues, and work out how long it'd take to get to a place on a ship like this and so on. Hopefully the result I came up with is at least plausible.
Your sea voyage calculations reminds me of a word document I have titled "Horse Maths" where I spent ages calculating how long it would take to travel certain distances by horse-drawn cart for my fantasy books. The things we do for our art.
That feeling when you think the Captain might be bipolar or something, haha. Although he probably realizes that HAS to rely on Seb for now anyway.
If you are that smart then you can probably lie to them and make up where you are and where you should be heading but it is probably one topic where you have to play it straight with the Captain. He is no fool anyway...
To be fair, Seb doesn't really have a reason not to want to stop. The Captain probably knows anyway, and they'll run out of supplies before Goshenia if they don't! It's also an opportunity for me to draw something that isn't boat them to spend some time on dry land lol
My one solace is that presumably Seb had to do even more maths than I did. >:D
