Nono it's not necessary. It adds to his charm. It's not that confusing anyways, I'm just poking at his dialect. I assumed correctly that a nipper is a child I just had to consult the Google lol
The idea was that it's a distorted memory! Nate doesn't remember that merpeople exist, but he does remember Stanza. It's sort of a result of only hearing the story told a particular way over the years.

Above comment aside, I do think Nate has awesome hair.
Can Stanza shapeshift, or is Nate's memory of her distorted for some reason? She looks very pretty as a human as well, though.
I like the page, both the composition and the fact that Nate apparently feels connected to the ocean once he lets himself.
I'm looking forward to exploring this some more. :D
