@Kevin_Redcrow Yeah, you're spot on with that! Attitudes in his home town, while not historically accurate bad, are still small rural British town bad. Coming out isn't really something people even contemplate. Nate's gotten to a point where he's long done with feeling ashamed about it though.
Something I found pretty interesting was that pirates were actually pretty tolerant of homosexuality, so I wanted to include that in my world. Even Finn isn't really homophobic, though it wouldn't help anything if he found out, that's for sure.
Jeebus. Making it look like complicated science when just like... hug him or kiss him (if he is up to it) or whatever, lmao.

Don't know how the pirates in this world view it, but I'm betting the last person on the ship you'd want to discuss it with would be Finlay.
