This following scene is definitely the one that took me the longest to do so far. By a looooooooong way! But I ended up pretty happy with most of it. It seems to me some scenes just need to take longer than others. I'm definitely looking forward to the bits with just a few people, though!
I am now shipping that blond pirate with a ponytail and his buddy with antlers. I don't know their names and have not previously noticed them, but they are adorable together!
Also, the page looks great! Crowds can be exhausting to draw.
Oh cool, I never actually thought about that, but that's pretty interesting! Thanks :D Yeah, I don't think many of these pirates have been named in comic yet. I did have a big document about who was who, but I lost it. I guess I need to get around to making up more names sometime!
They're actually just tucked into his headband! I imagine it's supposed to be a sign of belonging to the crew and respecting the captain, as the ship's symbol is a skeletal deer.
Oh, that opening panel is gorgeous, those ships are have just the right amount of detail, and I love the sense of fast movement on this page. I can almost hear it.
When I say I like a ship in a webcomic normally I'm not referring to an actual ship XD
I was actually going to mention that with the next page! I read up and it seems the 'swinging around on ropes' thing didn't actually happen. Instead, grappling hooks were used to bring ships closer together so the pirates could board directly. what's seen in this comic probably isn't totally accurate, but I like to think it shows I tried XD
Oh no, I didn't take anything in a negative way! I just find stuff like that really interesting and love talking about it, haha. Sorry if I came across in a way I din't mean to.

And thanks! Yeah, they really are X3
(... Why does that one guy have horns?)

And I also noticed the antler guy! (The new side character who is bizarrely popular with the fans?)

Also hahaha!
I always found that dangerous practice in reality.
