Honestly, most of Nate's time was taken up by work, and his free time was pretty aimless. He had a boring life between ages 6-19. It's probably why he slacked off on occasion.
I think back then not many would find that boring though. For most their job probably was their entertainment as well since you still could sell what you liked creating. Pots, baskets, furniture, carpets and so on. The higher caste could not just walk into a shopping mall and find hundreds of products to choose from. Maybe?
I'd imagine it'd be something similar to that. It'd probably still be a bit boring, but people may not be so aware of it, and find it more bearable. This comes across as a bit surprising to Seb, who is lucky enough to have had more free time and opportunities. Anyhoo, this is all guessing on my part X3
Guessing on my part just as much really :D
I asked because I figured you have some research related to those times back then.
I agree but I think the concept of boredom was totally different. I would say plenty of people were able to have a job that also happens to be their hobby in some way and even if not, the question of inheriting your family's business was much more serious.
Some people always feel they need to turn everything they're good at into a source of income... Though I suppose for Nate it was more out of necessity.
I love the poster with all the knots on, very Pirate Aesthetic.
Thanks, it was very hard to draw XD
