So, I've got a little news this week. The Back o' Beyond has been accepted into Spiderforest!
What's this going to mean? Not much. You'll still be able to read the comic here if you prefer, but the Spiderforest site will be one update ahead. I'm also going to be pruning a few of the extra pages on this site, because the HTML on them is kinda ugly and some are just outdated. The Gift Art page can now be found on the SF site, along with a shiny new about page!
Heyyyy...congratulations on getting on Spiderforest! It's probably time I got an account there; it has some pretty good work.
When I was about 9 or 10, I read a juvie-novel about the life of some Viking.
When he's three years old, his father takes him down to some cove to teach him to swim. The lesson, as I remember it, consisted of the father literally throwing the boy into the icy waters of this cove and shouting, "Swim!"
The young Vikinglet moved his arms and legs and mastered swimming.
My child-mind thought back to the levels of swimming skills and instructions I had taken at the YMCA, and I went, "WTF!?"
The secret is to start 'em really early - as infants. They dogpaddle instinctively then, and the early introduction of the skill is paart of drownproofing.
Is that not sort of unfair that Nathan has to strip like that and Seb does not? I thought this would be one oportunity? No? Okay.
I had a teacher/research supervisor during uni who told me I should learn how to swim because "you are taking a walk along the river and suddenly there is a hot chick calling for help but you are a moron who cannot swim". LMAO
I knew how to swim but then I learned how to swim really well :D

Oooooof that's harsh.
The Viking novel ends with him approaching old age, he can't fight and conquer anymore.
A Christian monk befriends him and teaches him how to read.

Hahaha! Well it is good to know!
Nate's nearly buff, and Sebastian is probably a bit on the scrawny side.
